IV International Chestnut Congress will be held in Beijing (China) from Sept 15-18, 2008 (please note change of date). These international conferences bring together researchers and growers from all over the world and provide an opportunity to learn about research concerning propagation, disease identification and control, processing and new technologies. They also provide a superb opportunity to form networks with growers from other countries. The conference is sponsored by the International Society for Horticultural Science. Full details, including registration costs, will be published soon at www.ishs.com/calender/index.htm . It may be possible for CAI to apply for VC funding from HAL to provide some financial support for a grower study-tour to this conference. Such an application takes time to coordinate and would need to be submitted early next year. Any application would be dependent on numbers, finding a suitable escort and award of funds.
